INTRODUCATION

This program provides an opportunity for students to pursue an international qualification at a far lower cost and to obtain overseas experience. We strive towards higher standards of educational excellence and acquiring stronger industrial experience for individuals who want to pursue services industry. These courses enable students to develop skills and confidence to be part of global tourism and hospitality management environment, to be innovative and gain new insights to the current issues.

 

OBJECTIVES

The programme is designed to meet the following aims:

i.
To equip you to meet current and future needs in the tourism and hospitality management profession by creating and sustaining competitiveness through cost, quality and efficiency.
ii.
To provide a thorough understanding of the underlying principles of management in order to improve their performance and effectiveness.
iii.
To enable you to apply and test their knowledge and understanding through projects and case analysis;
iv.
To develop and introduce the tools and techniques necessary to enable you to effectively integrate the elements of management
v.
To provide an academically rigorous education in business, tourism and hospitality in management.

 

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The duration for the DTHM is five (5) months of theoretical studies and six (6) months of industrial attachment.

ASSESSMENT

Students will be assessed according to requirement developed for each module. Some of the methods may include seminar presentations, assignments, examinations, class quizzes, and other approved assessment strategies. The modules are assessed by means of both 50% coursework and 50% examination.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

• 'A' Level or equivalent

• Diploma holders from other institutions/ professional bodies will be assessed on case by case basis
