Programme Details
The MBA@MSU is aimed at developing potential senior managers by extending their portfolio of knowledge and skills beyond the conventional Economic and Management System. With the increasing development and demand for management and financial products, there is a need for expertise in this particular field. Through this MBA, our graduates are equipped with both academic credentials and a solid understanding of the development of the
management skills around them. This will enable them to think strategically, tackle complex issues and manage effectively.
Aims and Objectives of the Programme
- Aims: The career opportunities are extensive for the graduate in both the private and government sectors dealing in international business. Graduates may venture into the industrial, finance and banking sectors as well as the service industry and government agencies.
- Objectives: This programme is designed to train and expose the students to the world of international business. Students will also be trained in Intimation business affairs in order to have a firm grasp of the understanding of the local economy and global business.
Programme Structure
- During the first two semester, you will reinforce your knowledge in the fundamentals of management and business. In the third semester you will have the opportunity to sharpen and practice your analytical and strategic capabilities. The final semester allows you choose from a wide range of specialisations to equip yourself to meet your current and future needs.
- In total, a participant will undergo 48 credits hours, consisting of sixteen (16) subjects - eight (8) core subjects, four (4) analytical and strategic subjects, and four (4) specialisation subjects. In normal circumstances, a participant who follows the programme can complete the programme within 12 to 24 months.
- Dissertation is to be completed at the final year integrating the skills and knowledge learned.
Assessment
Students’ performance will be assessed by assignments, projects and written examinations. The assessment components are 30% for assignment, 30% for projects, 40% for written examinations.
Admission Requirements
- A good First Degree or Professional Qualifications, preferably with at least one-year business experience together with a strong motivation and commitment for completing an MBA.
- Diploma holders from other institutions/ professional bodies with at least 3 years of working experience will be assessed on case by case basis.
